What are the three types of tourists?
Absolutely our purpose of traveling is different. And this is where the types of tourists are created with different goals. The tourism industry is not limited to visiting attractions, but it has many different types that are developing around the world. And each country tries to attract enthusiastic tourists based on its capacity and attraction in each area.
For sure tourism is one of the most interesting activities among others. We all dream of traveling to parts of the world that we hope to see one day, and also work hard to make enough money to make that dream come true. But absolutely our purpose of traveling is different. And this is where the types of tourists are created with different goals.
We have seen many categories in the field of tourism, each of which is based on specific components.
The tourism industry is not limited to visiting attractions, but it has many different types that are developing around the world. And each country tries to attract enthusiastic tourists based on its capacity and attraction in each area.
Here I’m going to introduce these different types of tourists based on their interests:
- Adventure Tourists
- Business tourists
- health tourists
- Cultural tourists
- Eco tourists
- Food tourists and
Among these options, the most important are adventure tourists, business tourists and cultural tourists.
It’s time to define each and see the importance of tourists feature.
The three types of tourists:
1. Adventure Tourists
This section is for those who like exciting activities and need to release some adrenaline in their body. Adventure tourists are always looking for a suitable place to enjoy it and perform their desired activity. Adventure tourism includes activities such as rock climbing, mountaineering, diving, hiking in the desert, mountain biking, etc.
Those who climb are looking for a place that is mountainous; Nepal is a good option for mountaineers. Croatia is a great place for rock climbing and those who are rock climbing can travel there. New Zealand is also a great place for mountain biking.
As you can see, there are different destinations for adventure tourists and of course they are suitable for their activities.
Note that if you are interested in any of these activities, you should be physically fit and do not forget to do exercise.
If you are not interested in adventure tourism, we have another option for you, cultural tourism.
2. cultural tourists
Cultural tourists are those who are interested in the culture, history and traditions of other countries and nations.
These tourists choose their destination based on what they want to visit. So attracting these tourists is not very difficult for countries that have a good cultural context.
Cultural tourists benefit from things like the history of a particular region, the way of life of people in a particular geographical location, architecture, traditions, religions, festivals, food, and so on. In urban areas, these tourists may visit museums, theaters, art galleries, etc.
Other areas visited by cultural tourists are rural areas such as indigenous cultural communities and the experience of traditions, way of life and values of a community. Pop culture tourism, which includes traveling to places and watching literary works, TV series and movies, is also visited by these tourists.
However, people have different interests and someone may not be interested in the two mentioned, so they can be among the business tourists.
3. business tourists
One of the reasons why people travel is business tourism. Unlike recreational tourism, commercial tourism destinations are more limited and mostly include advanced and developed countries and industrial areas. For this reason, it is not surprising that business tourists are on average richer than leisure tourists. As you know, today many people travel for business reasons because of the ease of travel.
People may need to travel for a variety of reasons, such as attending international conferences, meetings and conferences, attending exhibitions and concluding trade agreements with other countries.
An interesting thing is when a politician and representatives of governmental or non-profit organizations either attend a meeting or conference on behalf of their nation or organization; it falls into the category of business tourism.
The World Tourism Organization estimates that global tourism will soon reach 30%, which is why many countries have come up with large investments and long-term plans to attract business tourists.
The bottom line
Due to the development of tourism, different countries and organizations are trying to have a place in this lucrative industry. So despite the competition in this industry, the quality of service delivery increases. In this case, tourists become more eager to travel than before.
